I was reading the October issue of Reminisce Extra, and it contained two pages of stories about feedsack dresses. It turns out they were still being used in the 40s and 50s. I just wanted to pass this along, because I think Molly would also look cute in a feedsack dress (I keep forgetting to look at those fabrics in JoAnn!)! I'm not sure where she would have gotten it from since her family didn't have chickens, but we never know what hobbies Mrs. Gilford might have had in her spare time!

My mother grew up in the 50s (born in 47) and her family kept chickens, ducks, and geese. We have several pictures of her in dresses her mother made from feedsacks. Some of them are really cute (like Kit's b-day dress), not what you would think of as a stereotypical "feedsack."
